Going on your Date : Safety Tips

You should always arrange to meet up in a public place (bar / restaurant / theatre foyer etc). Do not accept any offer to pick you up from your home, work or any other address. 5. It is advisable to just send a quick text message to your friend to let them know that you have arrived at your meeting point and met your date for the evening. Do not give out details on a first date that would enable someone to identify where you live, your workplace or regular social haunts. Confine discussion topics to the general.- interests, foods, likes & dislikes, travel etc. Allow your character to come through without divulging too many details about yourself.

7. Once the date has ended you should make your way home independently. Do not accept any offer of a lift. If you are serious about a prospective partner and they are about you then they will fully understand your reasons and will not pressure you into doing otherwise.

8. Let your friend know that your evening is at an end and that you are back home safe and sound. Don't be shy about sharing your experiences with your friend(s). Tell them how it went, guage their reactions and listen to their advice.

9. Think about whether you would like to see your date again. If you do then it could be the first step on the road to romance. If you would rather not meet up again then you can get back online and look through some more profiles for a potential date.
